Osmington:campsites on the Jurassic Coast

osmington campsite

Osmington can be found on the A353 between Wool and Weymouth and is ideally situated as cheap accommodation for the 2012 Games as well as being close to the Jurassic Coast for all you fossil hunters. There are two sites here that are almost next to each other.

The first one is cheaper, having one price all season of £12 per night or £75 for the week.Facilities as basic with just hot showers and toilets and level pitches. To book phone 01305 264091.It is open in the May Bank holiday week then from July to the end of September.

The entrance is right on the corner of the A353 and the road leading down to to the Smugglers Inn which is signposted.

The other site Osmington Mills Holidays is on the same road leading to the coast . Post code is DT3 6HB.The charges are higher at £20 for the high season but the site does have a shop and swimming pool.If you are a keen angler there is a lake which is stocked with carp, bream roach and skimmer bream.

There are no electric hook ups at this site nor do they take groups, families and individuals only.To book call 01305 832311.The season here is longer running from March to the beginning of November.

There is a bar on site, or ,if you continue on the road to the sea and the Smugglers Inn a great pub, but mind your head if you are tall.

You are well placed here to explore the Jurassic Coast with Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove to the East as well as Ringstead
