Old Bournemouthian's grumble.

I was born in Bournemouth in 1941, left in 1965, returned in 2002 and in 2004 moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I now live.

After I left Bournemouth, Hampshire in 1965, they moved it to Dorset, hoping I suppose, that I wouldn't be able to find it again.

On my return after all those years, I was disappointed, especially with the Pier and its surrounds, which seemed to me to have been cheapened by the addition of down market attractions.

The Gardens however, are as beautiful as ever and of course the New Forest and the surrounding areas of Dorset are still really attractive although I think, overdeveloped.
