Great Dorset Steam Fair
The Great Dorset Steam Fair is one of the big events in Dorset rivaling the
Bournemouth Air Show
in terms of the numbers of people it attracts.Up to 200,000 over the 5 day event.

The event is held in some fields next to the A354 in the village of Tarrant Monkton between Salisbury and Blandford. The post code for sat navs is DT11 8HX. The nearest railway station is Salisbury but it is still a bit of a hike to get to the show ground so get the 183 bus run by Wilts and Dorset buses,go to their website
here
to view the timetable. If you do come by car then it can take some time to get in as you are driving though so field gates one at a time. Then you park in said field so let us hope it does not get too boggy. You will of course need a ticket to get in and it is better to buy them in advance as there is some saving.A family ticket will cost you £4 less if booked online.Go to festival website
