Bournemouth Poole Cinemas:multiplex only

There are two Bournemouth/Poole cinemas

One is the Odeon which is located in Westover Road BH1 2BZ and very close to the town centre.Actually there are two, but they are almost next to each other.One is called the ABC.Both however show the main Hollywood films with little art house stuff.

Whilst the cinema is handy for the town centre, if you are coming by car,no matter where you park, you will have to pay.

So the alternative is the Empire at Tower Park in Poole.Go here for bookings.Tower Park is a large out of town retail park so the parking here is free, though what you save in parking fees you may lose in petrol costs.

Again this is mainstream cinema.If you want to see inde films you will have to leave the county and go all the way to Southampton in Hampshire to the Harbour Lights Picture House which is down on the docks at SO14 3TL.There is a large FREE car park here.Now they do show the mainstream stuff but you do get the weird art house films too.

The last time I was there I saw an Israeli animation film about the war in Lebanon!

It is a trek from Bournemouth but worth it if you really want to see a film the multiplex will not show.
